Goa Kaca was first discovered in 1990 by phosphate rock miners. It’s no wonder that when you enter the cave, tourists will find many former mining excavations for phosphate rock. Because of the beauty and tourism potential of Goa Kaca, the local people began to dare to enter the cave and it began to be developed. From 2015 to 2016, youth organizations in Pasir Kored hamlet tried to re-develop the cave tourism into a tourist destination.
Goa Kaca has extraordinary beauty, the sky of the cave and the bottom of the cave are filled with lots of giant stalactites and stalagmites that are still natural. This 100 meter long cave has several large rooms similar to bedrooms. Tourists can take selfies in the cave room while enjoying the stalactites and stalagmites. That said, in Goa Kaca there was once a stone that was so clear as glass but the stone had been damaged by the miners, all that was left now were crystal stones. Therefore this cave is called the glass cave.
After being amazed by the beauty of Goa Kaca, about 50 meters there is Goa Surupan. tourists will be invited to go on an adventure to explore Surupan Cave which has a length of about 1500 m. Inside the cave there is the flow of the Cipicung river because the terrain is quite difficult, so not all visitors can enter the cave, only for adults. In Surupan Cave, tourists will be invited to split the bowels of the earth by walking along the Cipicung river. When entering Surupan Cave, tourists will be invited to get wet, while feeling the sensation of rock climbing and crawling on the cave walls. There are 3 spots that can be used as a place to take pictures, including a large crystal rock with water flowing from the top of the rock, the 2nd spot is a large space in the middle of the cave and the 3rd spot has a hole so that the sun can enter directly into the cave. Here tourists will also find small bats which are the inhabitants of Surupan Cave, no wonder as soon as we enter the cave, we will feel the smell of ammonia from inside. After leaving the cave, tourists will pass a hill with a slope of 45 degrees, the local guides call it the Hill of Galau. Because when in the middle of the trip, tourists will feel confused and in a dilemma between wanting to return or continuing the hill trip. If tourists continue their journey to the top of the hill, they will be presented with views of expanse of green trees and rice fields, from there tourists can also see the Pangandaran area as a whole from a height.
For tourists who are going to visit Goa Kaca and Goa Surupan, it is advised not to go during the rainy season other than the roads are slippery, Goa Surupan will be closed for tourism activities because it is feared that the river will overflow.
The local manager sets an entrance ticket to the tourist area of 10,000 rupiah. With very affordable prices, tourists can already enjoy the sensation of adventure and the beauty of giant stalactites and stalagmites in the cave. If you want to taste the typical culinary delights of Sidomulyo Village, tourists can order Nasi Liwet typical of Bukit Galau at affordable prices at places to eat around the location.
